The Because I Love You Wrap

WOW, I might be a bit biased but isn’t this shawl stunning? It’s the Because I Love You Wrap by Amy Meeks. She’s the Sister of the designer of the shawl that I knit last week. Aren’t they both super talented designers?

Because I Love You Wrap
RAVELRY NOTES

I knit this shawl with yarn that I dyed several months ago. I love how it turned out. I am just disappointed that my picot edging on the left edge didn’t lay down better. I wonder if some starch would help in the blocking process but I don’t want to wear something stiff and crunchy around my neck either.

I have started a second Wendy Sky Shawl. This one is for my Step Grand Mother. I’m thinking about using the scraps from all three Wendy Sky Shawls to knit a hitch hiker shawl for my daughter. I think that pattern should be fairly easy to modify so that it fits a pre-teen girl.

My First Wendy Sky Shawl

When I first heard about the Wendy Sky Shawl I knew that I had to make one in colors that my Sissy Brittany would have liked. Wendy’s Sister Debby designed the pattern in her memory and 20% of the all pattern sales will be donated to the San Diego School District’s Program for hearing impaired and deaf children. What a great cause!!! This is one of my favorite pictures of Brittany. It was my inspiration when dying yarn to knit this shawl with.

I knit this shawl with size US 6 knitting needles and yarn that I hand dyed myself. I used Knit Picks Stroll Bare yarn as a base.

RAVELRY NOTES

I have yarn set side to knit two more of these shawls. One for my Step Grandmother and one for myself. Each shawl will be slightly different considering I had three attempts at dying the green yarn. This was the one that my Mom liked the most.
